Miriam 'Mira' Jordan Ferrara: 4 lbs 11 ozs; 16 inches |
As Mira's mother, I created this blog after my husband and I became overwhelmed with attempting to keep our family and friends updated of Mira's condition. I continue to write, at least for now, as I have found that writing about Mira's life and our life after her passing has been comforting to me. I also have been told by some people that the openness with which Joe and I have shared our journey with Mira has made them feel able to share about their journey with pregnancy or child loss. Joe and I celebrate every good thing that has come from Mira's life and we count that as a very good thing. Grief, especially surrounding baby loss, is often to uncomfortable for people to talk about. If we can have a small part is starting to change that dynamic, we will be proud to. As long as continuing to write about our journey makes the subject of carrying to term, pregnancy/child loss, and/or grief easier to talk about or at all more natural to discuss, we will continue to share!
