In honor of Mira’s 2nd Birthday (December 18th, 2019) we started a Random Acts of Kindness event in her honor! We sent out cards to anyone who was willing to participate and asked them to leave them behind when engaging in random acts of kindness. The hope is the person who received the card will pass it along while doing another act of kindness, spreading Mira's love all around! The event is scheduled to start two weeks before her 2nd Birthday (December 4, 2019). We hope it continues long after her birthday is over though!
If you gave or received a kindness card in Mira's honor, please comment below (scroll all the way down!) about the kindness you received/gave! We (her parents) would love to hear about who has been affected by her love!
If you received a card, we would love to see you pass it along with another act of kindness. Here is a list of ideas in case you are feeling unsure what to do! We can’t wait to see what else you come up with!
- Donate a book to a local hospital, school, or charity. (Mira LOVED being read to!)
- Donate to charity in Mira’s name (Three Little Birds and CHOP’s Perinatal Palliative Care Program are our favorites for Mira!)

Donated two boxes of girl goodies to some special kiddos. Happy Birthday Mira ❤️
ReplyDeleteThis one sounds simple but it made me smile bc it was u expected and 100% Mira driven. Stopped to help a woman who wanted the same Christmas ribbon as I had in my hand. There were only two left so I gave her mine. I probably would have done this normally- but this time it was without a doubt with sweet Mira in mind. The woman kept trying to not let me give it to her bc it was the last one- but I surely insisted and told her it was my pleasure. Hope she has something beautiful planned for that ribbon 🎀
ReplyDeleteVolunteered at a Toys for Tots drive and Tunkhannock. Love you Mira❤️
ReplyDeleteSent a Christmas card and note to an extended family member that’s in prison. I sent a little card of Mira’s along in hopes of him wanting to spread random acts of kindness in prison. How cool would that be?!

ReplyDelete12/4/19: I decided to surprise my mother and father in law with homemade potato soup for dinner tonight.
ReplyDelete12/4/19: I started by surprising my husband with his favorite drink after he had to stay late at work.
ReplyDelete12/4/19: Presents for individuals through MHA in Mira’s honor!
ReplyDelete12/5/19: I didn’t get a chance to physically do something today, but I wanted to take a moment and thank Mira. She is a reminder that while miracles don’t always seem obvious even the smallest miracles can be the most significant. Mira will live in our hearts even if we did not know her. Ali Ferrara has been a huge encouragement for me and she probably has no idea. I never thought I get pregnant, but I did right before my 40th birthday. I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks. It was incredibly heartbreaking for my husband and me. We decided to name our baby Isaiah and to celebrate his life even though we never had a chance to meet him. Mira’s life inspired us. She was an inspiration through our difficult journey.
ReplyDelete12/6/19: Recorded a Christmas Lullaby in memory of the beautiful children who left our hearts too soon and shared on Mira's Facebook Even page.
ReplyDelete12/7/19: In honor of Mira, I was trying to think of a random act of kindness that I could do that would touch a lot of people and not cost very much money. If you live local to South Jersey, you know that Rowan University has lost two students this semester to suicide and one tried to commit suicide the other day all by jumping off of the parking garage. As a mother, these kids are my children’s ages and my heart breaks for the students who are friends of theirs and for their parents. To lose a child to something treatable like grief, sadness and depression is unacceptable.
ReplyDeleteGiving out hugs today was amazing and I cried so much because the kids were so sweet! Thank you for the encouragement to do the random acts of kindness! I think I’ll make this a yearly tradition!
12/7/19 I attended a Premier jewelry party about 2 weeks ago. In the past, the consultant has set a goal to gift a piece of jewelry to a group of people. She offers the opportunity to help to her customers. This year, she wanted to gift a Survivor necklace to 20 women in a domestic violence shelter. I decided to purchase one. I shared Mira's story and gave her one of the cards. I asked her to either put it with the necklace or to pass it along in another act of kindness. She said she already had an idea of where the card would go and was thankful to hear the story!
ReplyDelete12/11/19: My second act of kindness was sending one of Mira's cards with some hot cocoa to a friend Wisconsin so she can spread some of Mira's kind spirit around the Midwest.
ReplyDelete12/13/19: We donated to the Palmyra Library and Central PA Food Bank in celebration of Mira’s life and love
ReplyDeleteMomma and Daddy donated some fun toys to Toys for Tots!
ReplyDelete12/12/19: Another batch of books donated! This time to the pediatric floor for any child having surgery. Mira is still spreading the love.
ReplyDelete12/14/19: Donated the books on the left to the Sinking Spring library where Mira’s daddy went as a child. The books on the right went to the Tower Health Pediatric department at the hospital where her Mom-mom works.
